What a great Weekend! Okay so the weather on day one was awful but both people and dogs had such fun! Day two started off foggy we couldn't see the courses it was so thick, but this quickly burned off to reveal lovely sunshine, once again a great day was had by all! ![]() If you are interested in starting Agility with your dog, please contact Clifton Agility. Today I took out a person new to photography, who just wanted to learn a little about composition and light, it was mostly him taking the photo's but I demonstrated a little with my own camera.
We went to Avon vale Cemetery in St George, Here are a few of the photo's that I took. As Cabot tower is still covered in scaffolding while they do the work to make it safe again I was mostly constrained to photographing the wildlife.
Today I took a drive up to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the Bridge was completed in 1864, it spans the Avon Gorge from Clifton to Leigh woods, and is a massive draw for sightseer's. But the weather just wasn't quite right enough for me today I would have liked a little more blue sky and a few fluffy white clouds, but that wasn't to be, because of this I only took a few photo's
I've lived in Bristol my whole life and have driven passed and heard about Arnos Vale many times, but until today I've never actually been in there.
I planned on exploring in the morning but once again the good old English weather got in the way, it was poring down. luckily it brightened up in the afternoon, so I took the opportunity to go and have a look around. And what can I say, it's a lovely peaceful place full of wildlife , with some very knowledgeable voluntary staff on hand to answer any questions you may have. So I went off to the highest point on the outskirts of South Bristol, Dundry, in the hopes of getting some nice photographs of the lunar eclipse, apparently it was going to turn the moon a lovely red colour. But sadly due to heavy cloud cover and rain, I never even saw a slight glimpse of the moon, on the other hand I did get to watch a lovely sunset and got to see a highlight of Bristol's skyline all lit up the Suspension bridge looked quite stunning! ![]() Sunset ![]() Clifton Suspension Bridge As lovely, stunning and eclectic as Bristol is, it's nice to visit different places and take some photo's while I'm there, so last weekend I went to Brighton the weather wasn't good, yes as is typical in good old Blighty it rained all weekend, although not as heavily as here in Bristol so I hear.
I did manage to get a few photo though when ever there was a slight break in the rain. So off I went with a friend of mine, to a secret location somewhere in the West Country, to take a look around and of course take some photos.
Upfest is Europe's Largest Free Urban Paint Festival, The artist's take over the North street area of Ashton and Southville including the car parks of the Tobacco factory, for a whole weekend, this festival is free for everyone to enjoy and there are plenty of lovely bars and restaurants down there to make the experience all the better.
I was honored enough to spend some time down there with some well known Bristol Graffiti artists who not only let me photograph their work but let me photograph them while working. here are a few photo's from the weekend |
